The District Education Assistant / Student Transportation Driver provides a variety of transportation, student supervision, organizational, clerical, delivery, and general district support services. The position is intended to provide flexible assistance to schools, district administration, maintenance/facilities, and other district programs based on operational needs.

 

A primary responsibility of the position is the safe transportation of students in a district-approved vehicle, including regularly scheduled transportation to educational programs and activities. When not providing student transportation, the employee performs general district support duties, including deliveries, pickup and drop-off of vehicles, equipment, supplies, or materials; filing and records organization; basic clerical tasks; student supervision; and other duties that support efficient district operations.

Hours: 7:30am - 11:30am; Monday - Thursday

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in district vehicles, school buildings, district offices, maintenance and operational areas, and community locations. The employee may work indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to varying weather, traffic, noise, and environmental conditions associated with student transportation and general district operations.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary, work schedule, work year, benefits, and other conditions of employment shall be established in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement, district policies, and Board action.
